SF Pro 13 loses Izotope SRC?

wakestyle wrote on 11/11/2019, 6:54 PM

I've been using SF13 trial for a couple of weeks and I noticed that there is no longer Izotope SRC included? The last version that I have is 10, and it has it.

Honestly, I don't think I am going to upgrade to 13, it's just too expensive for too little features I would actually use. I want to upgrade but at $199..

Several other reasons that the price is not worth it:

experienced more crashing mostly when opening files from file explorer (win10)

Izotope Ozone Elements is not the latest version (7 not 8)

Loses the older Izotope plugin suite, which also includes a nice reverb that I liked.

Prospect of future updates being pricey for little features, yet badly needed stability.

@wakestyle

Welcome to the Magix forums.

I can't comment on most of the points you make but this one I can:

I assume you're referring to iZotope Ozone, or similar? If so, iZotope themselves removed it from their set of plug-ins in Ozone. Not sure why but that is the reason why you can't see and use it in any later version of their software.

The iZotope Direct X mastering suite (I & II) that was included w/ Pro 9 and 10 does...  but does not work with 64bit SF.  However, the iZotope Direct X Mastering Suite works normally with the 32 bit version of Pro 12 & 13. I have both 64/32 bit versions of Pro 13 installed.

I didn't know there was a 32 bit option, but for the reverb that might be a good option.

thx

Both 64 and 32 bit versions can be installed w/o issue. They share the same authorization code, the customizations and other settings. The only annoyance I have is, the 'Sonitus Ultrafunk' DX plugs are not available.. but this is pretty much a non-issue, since the Ultrafunk suite has both DX and VST versions.

FWIW, the Ultrafunk reverb one of the best reverb plugs I have encountered. Not as versatile as the Lexicon reverb plugs, but great reverb sound.

The free Ambiance reverb plug-in is very good as well

SF13 Pro comes with iZotope Ozone 8 Elements (not 7) & RX 7 Elements, but I expect that you actually have to buy or upgrade to SF13 get the plugins.

I suggest that you look at the comparison chart to see what is included.

https://www.magix.com/ca/music/sound-forge/sound-forge-pro/version-comparison/#c1102566

It also comes with a pack of new mastering effects: coreFX 2, including coreFX 2-Point Compressor, coreFX Limiter, coreFX VolumeFormer, coreFX Compressor, coreFX Gate;

and Delay and Reverb Effects including: coreFX Delay, coreFX Chorus,coreFX Flanger,

and more, all of which can be seen on the Magix.com site, in detail.
