SF Pro 11 & Windows 10 Pro v2004

Windows 10 Pro (x64) recently updated to v.2004, & now my Sound Forge Pro 11 is acting erratically. While I'm able to render mp3s, the "Save As" dialog box now looks different: namely, the folder name is missing in the "Save in" field at the top, no matter what I try or how I navigate... I have attached a screenshot to illustrate. Any recommendations on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users forum @Queenie.

Have you exited SF and cold booted the PC sine the update? Try a different layout and 'View' settings in the 'Save as' window.

Some WIn 10 updates causes 'elevated privilege' issues in SF Pro 10 and in early builds of Pro 11, but that is different from your dilemma. Sorry. I do not have a definitive solution.

Thank you for your reply. I exit out of SF at the end of every session, & the PC has been cold-booted many times since the update. I just tried your suggestion of changing the "View" settings, but this made no difference. I'm not sure what you mean by trying a different layout. What's strange is the folder name in the "Save in" field is inconsistent, appearing for some & missing for others. I was going to do a fresh re-install of SF (& Vegas Pro 14) after this major update, but chickened out when I discovered that my original download link from 2016 no longer seemed to be working. Any thoughts there?

"my original download link from 2016 no longer seemed to be working"

Use the email address from when you originally registered Pro 11, All registration info and such prior to 1/1/2017 was transferred to Magix from SCS.

I did. I've had the same email address for a very long time.

Do you see Pro 11 listed in Magix 'My Products" in the Magix Service Center Otherwise here is a link to download the Magix SF Pro 11 installer.

There is no guarantee it Pro 11 will activate though if Magix does not recognize your email address. Maybe contact the Magix Customer Service.

if you absolutely have to reinstall Pro 11. You could also try a repair install, reinstalling without uninstalling, there is a risk either way.

Addendum, you could first try cleaning the registry. Ccleaner my go to for cleaning a PC

I have an account with Magix, set up with the same (usual) email address. My SF Pro 11 (including S/N) is listed in "My Products" & was registered in Jan 2017. Because I can successfully sign in & access this info, I'm assuming that Magix must recognize my email address. I thank you for the link to download the installer & for your other suggestions. I am going to monitor SF's behavior for the time being, but will run your suggestions by my IT guy. I realize that my version of SF is older. Would you happen to know if Magix has stopped support for it (e.g, keeping up its compatibility with Windows 10 updates)?

Magix usually only supports the latest version of a product.

I was afraid of that... But thank you for your reply.

On-line generally supports the Magix versions of SF.. but 'it depends' . This forum is your best bet for operational issues.

Activation issues, serial numbers and such are handled by Magix Customer Service. Forum moderators are not Magix employees and do not have access to serial numbers and other customer data.
