SF 12.6 issue

When I try to play a file, I see playback trying to happen but it stops after only a second -- no audio. Any thoughts? NOTE: If I download the file, I can play it elsewhere -- so the audio is being recorded but I can't seem to play it within 12.6.

Do you have Sound Forge 12 'Audio Studio' or 'Pro' 12 ? I do not recall what 12.6 was, there was a SFP-12.5 . Please state and Read the 'Sticky' at the head for the main Sound Forge forum page.

- Can you see a waveform in the timeline?
- What format was the file saved as after recording. (PCM <.wav> is best for further editing

Try a different playback device setting. The Classic Wave Driver and Sound Mapper are usually trouble-free on PCs with an internal soundcard. In most versions of SF, the audio device settings are in "Options> Preferences> Audio". Audio Studio12 may be different as it was an 'oddball' release.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @joel-snyder.

Thanks much for your response ... I'm using Sound Forge Audio Studio. I do see a waveform in the timeline and the file was saved as a .wav file. Anyway, I went to the audio settings and discovered that the driver system had changed somehow ... I reset it and we're good now! Thanks so much, rraud!

Hi All, I am trying to locate the last update to version 12. I am on 12.1 and would like to update it. Thanks!

hi @danny-biando, i believe you are referring to Sound Forge Pro 12.1...which is the latest update of Sound Forge Pro 12...this post is referring to Sound Forge Audio Studio 12.6, which was the latest update of Audio Studio 12...and you can always find the latest build available for your programs by logging into your magix user account and looking at the 'my products' section. i hope this helps!
