Saving A take

Hi

From the manual, which I would suggest you read:-

The keyboard shortcut is Shift + K however this is always greyed out, ie not active, for me.

Save take using drag and drop

In the Media Pool, open the folder where the take will be saved (e.g. "My media > Recordings").
If you want to save several objects in one take, select the corresponding objects in the arranger and group them. Shortcut: G
Click on the selection and drag it to the Media Pool while holding down the mouse button. Movie Studio creates a take file (*.TK2) which is named after the object in the arranger. The objects are removed from the arranger.
Rename the take.

However there is a bug with Takes, they are only 1 second long, this is a known issue with both MMS and VPX, until this is fixed takes are of no use.

A work around is set the range and export the range as a MXV file, Video as magix video (Ctrl + Alt + M) to a folder of your choice eg the Take folder.

I used to start an edit using "I", Then speed up to the end of the part, press "O" and then "Shift+T" Would open a window

@DRORENGEL @johnebaker Hi, Shift+K & the right click option does work for me in MMS 2025, the Take is the full length of the object selected not just the Range selected with I & O.

& no window pops up, I don't remember a box popping up in the past?

John, I thought the 1sec thing was a VPX thing?

when starting this type of project, at start- How do I make the "save take aka shift+K," Ta2k to be saved to MY Folder and not to the folder attached in the pic? where/how do I get to change the folder into the basketball game folder?

What version number is your MMS 2025 at, I have reverted to .221 because of a different issue also try dragging the take file into a new movie/project.

Use the drag and drop method I mentioned above.

Do note that a take is not a video file, it is a 'mini project file' containing references to the original video file(s) which must be in the original location when the Take file is added to the timeline, as shown by the error message shown below.

@johnebaker Hi, Yep no problem with that (vid below), I closed this project & opened a New Project, the Take remained & could be dragged to the timeline. I also closed MMS, reopened it, New Project & dragged the Take onto the timeline without prob..

Thanks for testing, I have patched up to .233 and this is what I get.

This is identical to the VPX project folder issue, except that the imported takes are just over 2 secs long, in VPX they are 1 sec long.

Very odd. 🙁

Right click seems to work but only gives video, But!!! .. If I drag the object to the Take folder I then get a 1sec video+audio take.. 🤦‍♂️😂

I get the feeing borked is going to be the appropriate word.. again.
