samplitude 16 crashing

I record Live intruments via a digital interface so i use the recording dialogue box to check the levels, set the external input option, bit rate and stereo/mono recording. BUT quite often, when i go into the recording dialogue it crashes. I get a "not responding" message and the program closes.and just recently, when  I start it up again it has started  changing the file path. Today it even changed the tempo of the whole VIP.

I have used other versions of samplitude and not had this problem, its only this one dialogue box that makes it crash every thing else works fine.... anyone got any ideas.

Is there any conflict with maybe something else running?

I didn't have the Samplitude Music Studio 16, I am assuming that it is running in a Windows version it was designed for... but also you might want to make sure your not running a service pack newer either, because that could change things too.

I would probably right click the desktop icon for the Samplitude Music Studio 16 and "Run as Administrator", just to make sure everything has admin rights during its use.

If the crashing persists, check to see if not using your Digital Interface to record still causes a "not responding". That might determine if the interface might be causing some issue with the programs own protocols.
