You can look in you directory for you mp3 but you will not be able to separate tracks out of it....It is it's own sound at that point. Example.. You can not use only vocals or use only the drums out of it.. Magix can't do that.
It is not entirely clear what you are asking. What do you mean by, "diagnose the song"?
If we are to surmize what you mean, then breasdaddy75 is correct. You cannot separate the track into its constituent parts. It's like trying to remove the eggs after you've baked the cake! You would need the original, multi-track master recording. (Good luck with that!)
In any event, you must be aware that it violates copyright laws to sample any part of an existing recording and use it for public presentations or commercial use.
BTW... the '.mmm' file extension signifies the main project file for any MMM project. Is it created anytime you save a new project. It merely records all of the relevent information about the project arrangement. You are not "converting" an MP3 into a '.mmm'.
(From the article) "Melodyne Editor is indeed the revolution we expected, thanks to its DNA technology. The algorithm is not infallible and (still?) doesn't allow to entirely de-mix a song, though it was probably never intended for full mixes."
Close, but they're not there yet. I never said it would not be able to be done...ever. It's going to take an extremely sophisticated program to do a perfect demix with one touch of a button.
Believe it or not, I've done some of what DNA can do just using MMM. (I can't post it because I used copyrighted material.) It takes some imaginitive use of its features and is not perfect, but some artifacts can be masked when mixed back into the arrangement. It isn't easy. but that's half the fun!
