Hello, am new to this forum.
Have been recording/converting many VHS tapes recently. While the ones i recorded several weeks ago happily ended up with the aspect ratio of 4:3 – the recent ones end up as ‘stretched’ sideways. Have no real idea of what I’ve done to change the settings.
While the first two ‘options’ on the “load project” “new project” screen – one for PAL 4:3 the frame size seems to be set at 720x576.
The other setting for PAL 16:9 frame size is also 720x576. Doesn’t seem to matter which one i choose – they still end up ‘stretched’ sideways.
The “preview” screen for ‘record’ looks like 4:3, and am using a Diamond Video Capture VC500 for the conversion from VHS (and are there better ones??)
How do i “re-set” so that the resulting digital file (set to MPEG2 export) ends up with the aspect ratio of PAL 4:3 ??
Cheers.
