Registering Sound Forge

I purchased the DVD version of v16...I installed it and I found the card with the serial #......BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK...!!! I have a voucher code...4 groups of 5 alpha numeric....and I have a MXT of 13 digits....The voucher seems like the serial number....I did not try the MXT number......so I set it up as a trial and got a serial number......the trial serial number which worked is nothing like the voucher code or the MXT number in the package.........So I want to get my purchased serial # working.....and I cannot find any place in the installed version to insert the serial number...

And...I cannot find any contact info from Magix to get technical support....

What do I do ...???

Hi

You need to redeem the voucher code here, you will then receive the serial number by email.

John....Thanks for the link....but it did not work...says I'm already registered....

So I bought the DVD and installed the program....a voucher card was included....couldn't get things to work.....wound up downloading the trial version and I got the serial # for that......good for 30 days.....

I cannot find a way to contact support and get this license thing worked out....

Do I have to uninstall v16 and reinstall from a download.....????

If I go and get the download.....How can I tell them I have purchased the DVD and I should get the download in place of the DVD version....

Can anyone help me...???

Do you mean your SF-16 has already been activated, which does not make sense, since you state the voucher does not work.. two different things.

FYI, the trial version, is the same as a purchased SF-16 version, except for the activation serial codes. The trial activation serial code will only activate SF for thirty days.. whereas a purchased SF serial code is perpetual. In any case, you should not need to reinstall SF,
If you do reinstall, the SF installer dialog with ask you if you wish to uninstall. .

SF16 is activated as a TRIAL....only thing I could get to work.....

The voucher code when I try to register it I get error This code has already been registered....and in my many attempts to figure out what's wrong I probably did register the voucher code trying to fix it...

So I have 2 problems......getting my voucher registered so I can get a serial number.....

And where do I put the register code in my installed SF16.....nothing under Help in the menu bar....Only option is "Deactivate the software on this PC"......I don't know what that will do......

What version of Sound Forge do you have (Audio Studio or Pro)? And who was it purchased from.. Magix or a third-party seller like Best Buy, Guitar Center, Musician's Friend, Amazon)?
If you purchased Sound Forge on a disc, the activation serial code is usually on the disc's jacket,. The serial would be entered when Sound Forge is initially launched and asks to activate. The serial code would appear similar to this: Two characters, (P3-) followed by six (6) sets of five (5) numbers or characters separated by hyphens, For instance: "P3-12345-12345-12345-12345-12345-12345"
A 'Voucher code' is issued by a third-party retailer when Sound Forge is sold on-line as a 'download' version. (I am not familiar what a voucher's sequence of characters looks like).
If the 'serial code' does not work or has "already been registered", email Magix. if the Voucher has already been used, or does not work, contact the (third-party) seller you purchased it from.
If you are running the trial version, deactivate and reactivate with your perpetual 'serial code' that is on the DVD jacket.. or was emailed to you by Magix.

I own Sound Forge Pro 14. I have it on two computers which is allowed. When I try to use the software under administrator it keeps taking me to the sign in screen over and over again. Why is there no way to contact support to resolve this issue? I have a Serial # bought through Magix. Please reply back. Thanks

I have Sound Forge Audio Studio v16.0 build38 64 bit...

Purchased from Magix...on 1/22/23....Order number is:  Removed by Moderator

There was no serial number on the jacket....The package is a multiple color of dark gray....and the seal on the package was broken.....I didn;t think anything of it....

So I am starting to think that a third party seller told the software to someone who then returned it with the seal broken...and that particular SF16 was shipped to me....

I was able to make SF16 work by licensing it as a trial.....I have the serial # for the trial version...

When I go to my account at Magix....CD Architect is listed that I got about 5 years ago....

BUT CF16 is NOT listed as one of my purchases.....

I did sent an email to  infoservice@magix.net outlining the problem and I got a response back in what looks like German....which I do not read.......I replied asking them to switch to English but have not hear back yet....
