Registering movie studio 9 sony vegas

Hi I am trying to register a sony vegas movie studio 9 but it will not be accepted. I have the serial code but it keeps getting rejected. I also have the authentication code but I cannot get through this stage to start using the product. Is it because of the Magix changeover.

That's a really old version and internet protocols have changed since then. It probably can't connect to the servers.
