red bar doesnt move on playback+no indicator on mixer

my red bar doesnt move at all on playback and the time elapse indicator which relies on the position of that doesnt count along either. checked my mixer and theres no graphic showing of volume of sound etc???  havent a clue why---was working fine before..

Hi Mark,

I get the same thing occasionally. It is usually that the driver that is loaded is wrong. Press P, click on the tab Audio/Midi and make sure that you have the correct driver, output and input device set up.

For the mic, I use a USB interface and if the driver is loaded from a previous session and the interface is no longer connected, I have a problem.

Another possibility is that you want to record using a keyboard but you have not selected an instrument.

Try restarting MMM, check that the audio driver is Wave, drag in a Soundpool loop onto the timeline. Press play. If it works, then your problem was probably the driver or some other setting.

Also, make sure that the yellow bar at the top is still there. If not, the program will hang at the beginning. For some reason the yellow bar gets "lost" sometimes.

And, if none of the above helps, try describing in more detail what happened to get to the point that you are at.
