Hello all, a complete novice idiot here. I have Samplitude Music Studio 15 and a Yamaha Tyros 1 keyboard. I have connected  Tyros to PC via Yamaha USB driver and it it recognised in Samplitude. BUT..! 3 guesses whats coming next..I cannot get anything to record at all, totally empty tracks. I've read lots of post on here, tried them all and nothing. I am on the verge of taking a hammer to the whole lot!
PLEASE help.
Regards,
Jackie

Hi Jackie,
If Samplitude recognised it then it appears to be installed correctly.
Are you trying to record to an audio track or have you set Samplitude to record MIDI?

If you're trying to record to a regular track then it won't work. Let me know and put that hammer down!

Thanks Justin. Yes I am recording onto midi track and the little green light flahes Midi In on the dongle but nothing for Out. What should I set my Playback device as please?
I'm totally confused about synths, VST etc!
The hammer is at halfway point as we speak!
Regards,
Jackie

Hi,
Don't worry about ASIO... that has NOTHING to do with MIDI! Come on people - do your homework before you offer bad advice!

Anyway, make sure your MIDI keyboard is set as the preferred device in the Windows Sound control panel applet. Then set your playback device in Magix as the Microsoft GS wavetable... that will play back through your speakers.

Then arm your track to record MIDI (might have to enable MIDI monitoring) and see what happens.

Please hammer don't hurt them!

Let me know how it goes,
Justin
