Random glitches on Magix Music Maker 2015

I've been using Magix Music Maker 2015 for almost 2 years now, and had no real problems with it until a few days ago.

A random glitch has started that does a few weird things, but the worst one is it doesn't let me export music in different file types anymore. When I go to the usual "File -> Export" it now doesn't allow me to click any of the options. The only thing it does allow me to click is this new option above them that says "Common export options", but this only lets me export it as an MP3. Being able to export as WAV, FLAC and every other thing that was on that list like burning to CD-R can't be done anymore.

Second, the cursor doesn't follow the music when I hit play anymore. It stands still after hitting play, even though the music is playing. Weird, I know.

I've tried seeing if just turning my PC on and off makes a difference, but it doesn't, it's a permanent problem. I've also checked for updates, and it says it's up to date. The only thing I can say for definite is that it's only been acting like this since a few days ago when I tried to put a particularly large media file into Magix (it was over an hour long), it couldn't handle it and crashed. I've had a few little things like that before where Magix does strange things after a crash.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hi

. . . . it doesn't let me export music in different file types anymore . . . .

This issue has been asked several times recently - see this topic and in particular this post

. . . . the cursor doesn't follow the music . . . .

See this post - note a full shutdown means:

  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R
  2. Type cmd in the dialog box and press Enter or click OK
  3. In the command dialog that opens type shutdown /s /t0 - note the spaces before the / - and press the Enter key

Also please read this topic before posting.

Thankyou so much Johnebaker! Sorry about missing those other threads on the same issue, I didn't realise there was a sub section specifically for Magix Music Maker, so I didn't come across them until after.

I can confirm that for me at least, the full shutdown solved both problems. Although I'll note that the full shutdown code I used in command prompt was slightly different, and I'm using Windows 10. For anyone who needs it, shutdown /s /f /t 0

Also, just before this all happened, I'd installed Audacity. It's hard to say whether this could have also played a part in the problems, because straight after uninstalling it Magix was still glitching out, but it's also worth experimenting and trying uninstalling it, if anyone happens to have both on their PC when this happens. I did a virus scan too, so I'd recommend both a virus scan and full shutdown to anybody with this bug.

Thanks again.
