Quicktime not installed

Hi,

Not sure why, but as I drag the MP4 file to the timeline, it is copied to workplace and I see it loaded, then I get the panel, Quicktime is not installed and need to play file.

Never saw this before. How come all of a sudden it is there. Same file types etc

EDIT:

Downloaded Quicktime Alternative 3.2.2. but now getting more weird messages.

On importing a normal MP4 which I have done hundreds of times..

An unknown error has occurred.
Error 0x2F02: mov structure broken

I have also reset the Program to default but still get the error.

Seems I can't import anything to the timeline.

Any ideas please?

They may be the same file types, however if they are from a different camera or source then internally they can be different - MP4 is a container file format and can hold many different video and audio codecs.

Have you checked and older MP4 that you know to be working?

You need to install the genuine Quicktime.
