Questions on how to burn a 'store-bought' DVD in MEP 2014 Pro Plus

I need to burn a couple of DVDs that can be played on a DVD player, and I recognize that MEP can do this, with interactive menus, that look & act like a 'store-bought' DVD (love that phrase!) A couple of questions on how to create them...

1) Can I create a DVD solely from the .MVP file, or do I have to have a finished video file? (e.g., .MOV, .MP4, .WMV) And if I do need a video file to create it, what's the best choice (short of an uncompressed .AVI)?

2) I have 9 .MVP files that I want to create this DVD from, and I added a SET CHAPTER marker to the head of each. Is it possible to add these nine files in the navigation section or do I need to combine them into a single .MVP/video output file?

I assume that the 9 MVP-files are independent films, and you will not connect them as 1 film.

A Project file (MVP) can consist of 1 or more Films. In this case, your MVP's are 9 Projects, each with 1 Film.

Load no. 1 MVP, then click no. 2 MVP. A question comes: Close current project or Add new project . Click Add and your MVP no. 2 will be added on a new Timeline. You'll see it as a new Tab over the Timeline. Do the same with all the files, you will end up with a Project consisting of 9 Films. You have now 9 Tabs over the Timeline. Save this project with a new name.

Now click Burn  in the upper right corner and you come to a Menu with 9 Films. You can change menues, then click Burn and continue ------
