I deactivated Photostory Deluxe on the computer on which it was first installed with the intent to activate it on a different computer which I never did. Now I cannot open the program on the original computer. It is on an HP Omen, Windows 10.
Since I was unable to open the program on the original computer I did not see any way to reactivate it. Do I do this on the Magix website? I have a CD for Photostory rather than a download.
. . . . CD is 2018 . . . . the registration begins with 2P . . . .
Do you mean the serial number begins with P2- ?
For Photostory 2018 this means you are using the wrong serial number for Photostory 2018 - Magix serial numbers used P2- xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx serial numbers up to 2013 and were replaced by the P3- series in 2014.
You can should be able to check your registered version serial number and also download, by browsing to magix.com - click the Account login icon top right of the homepage, login with the email address and password you registered the software with and select My Products.
I was mistaken about the serial number: it begins with P3. Should I uninstall what is on my computer before going to the Magix site & downloading this program?
. . . . Should I uninstall what is on my computer . . . .
I would suggest you do the following:
Download the installer
use Revo Uninstaller Free to uninstall the existing installation - start the uninstall from within Revo
when uninstall is complete Revo will offer to scan and remove files and folders left behind and registry entries - only select those entries that relate to Photostory if you have more than one Magix product installed.
Reboot the computer and then install the Photostory.
Before you go to uninstall and install Photostory, just press the Windows flag and see if by chance Magix Photostory is listed there. If that is the case, click on it. Maybe Photostory will start up.
