It appears to be Sound Forge Audio/Studio 12. It was purchase yesterday at Best Buy (3rd party vendor). By activation code, yes I mean the activation serial code. I attempted to input the serial code and received an error message stating it was the incorrect serial number (i quadruple checked to verify that I inputted the correct serial number) I never received a download link after I logged into the website.

Did you download and install it? After installation, you use the serial code.

FWIW, Sound Forge-12 is an old version (from 2016).. Though it will still work just fine. The current version is SF-15. I hope BB gave you a discount.

There was no optical disc in the box. Just the Installation guide and and a PC Download Key Card. I was expecting a optical disc. It definitely would have made things easier. I attempted to return it to Best Buy, but as with other third party vendors, if the package is opened, they will not exchange or accept a return.

The website I logged onto was the magix website.

Yes. I input in the serial code and the error message stated it was the wrong serial code. I even used the format given (e.g. P3 12345-12345-12345-12345) with and without the hyphens.

You are at least the second user to report a similar problem, following a purchase at BestBuy.

If the supplied key does not allow you to download and install the software, this is a problem that Best Buy must resolve, whether or not they accept a return.

No-one here in the forum nor any Magix staff can really help because we, fellow-users, have no access to any individual's Magix account; and, in your case, if this is your first purchase of any Magix software you won't actually have such an account!

BestBuy is the third-party reseller and, as such, responsible for ensuring what they supply actually "works"; Magix will have no record of your purchase (until you are able to download, activate and register your purchase) and so really cannot help you.

@LL-Crawley, You are not answering the questions needed to offer you a recommendation. You still did not state if you did or did not successfully download and install Sound Forge Audio Studio 12.
If you only need the installer file, we can provide that. Otherwise, a serial code that will not activate a product must be addressed through Magix... (as @emmrecs stated, this is a user-to-user forum and not one here, including the moderators, are Magix employees with access to customer data and serial codes). If you did download and install Sound Forge, but cannot activate it with the serial code.. (e.g. P3 12345-12345-12345-12345), try contacting Magix Customer Service which 'normally' handles activation issues. The unknown factor here is Best Buy.

Ok @LL-Crawley, now that we know you could not get the install files, you can download the full installer files -- here -- for Sound Forge Audio Studio 12.
To start with, only install SF-12 (x64), then launch SF and follow the activation prompts using the serial code (starting with P3) Best Buy gave you.
If that does not work, contact Best Buy and/or Magix Customer Service, at the link in my above comment.
btw, your PC must on connected to the internet when activating SF. Ozone Elements would have separate serial if that is included with the BB deal. I do not know if Music Maker and ACL has separate serials.

Thanks for the assistance. I'm able to use the trial version! If my assumption is correct, when the trial period is over it may be possible to use the voucher code from the program I already purchased to register the product (i hope). Thanks again!

The serial code you got from Best Buy, (assuming it starts w/ P3), should activate SF AS-12 anytime. If it does not, you should contact Best Buy and/or Magix.

@LL-Crawley In case you use the trial version of Sound Forge 14 or 15 you cannot use your version 12 serial number.

@SP., the link I posted for LL was for the direct AS-12 installer. LL seems a little confused about which version was actually purchased from Best Buy..

Thank you to everyone for your assistance. In the future, should I decide to upgrade from AS-12, you can best believe I will NOT go through a third party vendor. Especially Best Buy!
