Understood, Sorry for unloading my frustration on you. I have both 2019 and 2021 installed. Older version works fine but new one is crap. Same computer, same OBS files. Sound is out of sync with video on OBS MP4 recordings ( 44.1KHz sound, stereo, 30fps video).

Understood. Just remember it's not only you and the best way to try to get a patch is for the people it effects to email Magix. If enough complain and Magix begin to understand how the user base is changing, then there is more chance of a patch for the problem.

What's the best email? I will be glad to complain immediately.

Hi

Raise a support ticket here reporting a bug in MEP 2021 it will go straight into their bug reporting system. Works much better than an email complaining.

Well, I never got a response in the OBS Forums, however I came across someone complaining that OBS was having issues with NVEC and so I switched to x264, looking for some of the recommended settings:

The x264 options are:
bframes=2 b-adapt=0 partitions=none scenecut=0 no-weightb weightp=0 sliced-threads aq-mode=0 subme=0 no-deblock

And this seems to work allright. It's not perfect, because the original issue pops up sometimes, but at least its much rarer now.

Also, if anyone is interested, here's the finished product 😄

Thanks for the help.

I have this same issue as you. Never had any problems with Magix ever before, but once I did the 2021 update I can't get through any of my work without massive glitches in all my cuts/edits. Nothing in my workflow changed other than the update, GG.

@Lee-Saenz

Hi and welcome to the forum

Did you read the posts in this topic from here about OBS and dropped frames - check the OBS logs to see if it is dropping frames, if it is this is something MEP 2021 or many other video editors cannot fix..

Hey guys,

I have talked to the magix support and after a long back and forth, It seems you just need to uncheck "hardware acceleration for playback if possible" and "hardware encoding during export when possible" thse options are in file ->settings -> Program. Although I was already mostly done with my project at this point, this seemed to have stopped any Issues. Keep in mind that you need to start a new project with these settings.

According to the magix support, If this doesn't work, you should set the video mode to compatibility mode in the Display options.

Hope this helps anyone who has/had the same issue as me =)

@nicolas-r

Hi Nicolas.

Thanks for the updated information.

That sort of sucks for anyone using that type of content.

Now I wonder what the export will look like and how long such projects will take to export as well as how well they will play inside MEP and VPX.

I also wonder if it's the simpler answer for problematic files from some mobile phones.

For now, personally I think I will stick with using the new settings I made in OBS but very interesting information.

Thank you.

Ray.
