Problems with downloading the new Magix Movie Studio 2023 Suite

Donna-Stremel wrote on 2/3/2023, 3:03 PM

Just purchased the upgrade Magix Movie Studio 2023 Suite for my Magix Movie Edit Pro and my computer is unable to download it. My computer says "This app can't run on your PC and to reach out to the software provider" and that you would have to find a program that will work with my computer. I have Windows 10. Should I uninstall previous versions or are there patches I should upload? Can a hard copy be sent to me instead?

Please advise.

@Donna-Stremel

Hi Donna and welcome to the user to user forums.

As such there are no Magix staff here to help and you really need to contact Magix via email at infoservice@magix.net.

However, the experienced users here may be able to help out.

It would be very useful if you could give the information about your computer as asked for in this post about how to ask questions here on the forums. Your provided additional information would help others to find out what could be going wrong. In addition to the additional information mentioned in that post could you also tell us which version of the program did you upgrade from? Was it an earlier version of Movie Studio? If so how old was it?

Thank you.

Ray.

I was able to download the upgrade afterall. It just took a while. My main drive is almost full and only has 20Gb of memory left. I only have a 100Gb drive operating system. Iknow, thats small. Most of what is on that drovw is Magix 2013 2019 and now 2023. I keep my movies on an external 1Tb drive but can only do one movie edit at a time due to my limited c:drive storage. I've uninstaled everything I can from that drive. So I was wondering if removing the original 2013 program, and leaving 2019, would that prevent me from using 2023 since it is and *upgrade*? Also, is it possible to move the entire program to my external drive?

@Donna-Stremel

Hi

You can remove the older versions - ensure you only remove the program not the Extra Content ie transitions, effects etc, which should be listed separately in the Windows settings, Apps, Installed apps as shown in the Windows 11 example below.

I have MEP 2016 and Movie Studio 2023 installed - the older program install is highlighted, the Extra Content is listed below this.
