Hi Mika.

Just try turning off any antivirus and defender while installing and activating. Because of the nature of verification the programs use to authenticate a user, they are often seen as threats to the system and blocked. You can add files or folders to be excluded from scans.

Hi Mika,

After you have installed and activated the New Blue Filters 5, when you open the Effects Library, you will not see New Blue Filters 5 Ultimate, there is a category called New Blue Filters, which contain all 27 of the Ultimate 5 package, at least that's what my system displays

Agree with CubeAce, you need to disable anti virus when installing packages

Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately, the problems (or at least the first one) still persist.

1) proDAD Mercalli V5 Suite. I shut down F-Secure and Windows Defender firewall and then tried to activate. But I got the same "Invalid Activation Code" message. Can the problem really be in antivirus or firewall, if the activation windows can make the assessment, that my code is invalid? Wouldn't it complain, that "Can't connect to www.prodad.de" or something, if antivirus or firewall were blockin the connection? And before you ask, I am sure, that I got the right serial number. 😀 After my order, I got an email from Magix, and there were links to installation and activation instructions for each program. And I copy-pasted the serial number from there.

I wonder what is the rk.exe that I have to accept as admin? I couldn't that file in my Windows search. It appears after I have pasted my serial number and pressed Activate-button. And right after accepting rk.exe, it gives me the "Invalid Activation Code" message.

2) NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate. I indeed have a category called NewBlue Filters, and it has 27 effects. But in my previous MEP version I also had that category (although it contained 31 effects), which came along some offer, back in the day. I thought that those old NewBlue effects were transferred from my old MEP, and that I would get some new NewBlue Effects when I bought the new MEP version. But according to this, Filters 5 Ultimate really seems to have only 27 effects. So maybe I already have all the effects I'm entitled to.

BUT... in my effects, there is a category called Extra Effects (I didn't have this in my old MEP). And under Extra Effects there's a button that says NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate and has a download symbol over it. I have already downloaded (and then installed) it several times, and it always reappears after I restart MEP. But if I really have all the effects, then I don't mind that. So maybe this problem is solved. 😀

Hi,

You can check which NB Filters that you should get with Filters 5 Ultimate by watching the video on this page. Check that you have all of them.

The NB button under Extra Effects along with some others, like proDAD Mercalli 5 Suite will always be there. Once installed, there is no need to click on the download button again.

Thank you all - so the NewBlue problem really wasn't a problem.

What about the Mercalli activation? Should I contact Magix support or do you have any other suggestions I could try?

Hi

I am not familiar with F-Secure however try turning off the features which are called Realtime protection, Folder Protection and Ransomware protection, or some thing similar, and also run MEP as an administrator - right click the program shortcut and select Run as Administrator option and then try activating ProDaD Mercalli.

If that fails check the Windows Internet settings that the following protocols are set:

Mika, I would be inclined to uninstall Prodad using Windows Programs and Features, then do as John advises above, then re-install it. As I said before, I am running Windows Defender firewall and had no problems getting Prodad/Mercalli installed.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I still get the same "Invalid Activation Code" message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, then started MEP as admin, then shut down the whole F-Secure (I don't know how to shut down specific parts of it) and Windows Defender firewall, and then tried the activation. But... no. And I also checked the Internet settings that John suggested.

So I'll contact Magix support next.

This may sound mad but try putting the activation code in manually and not copy and paste. I have had to do that on occasion in the past.

I tried manual typing, and that didn't work either. Although I didn't do it with all the other stuff (firewall off etc.). Maybe I should try that, too.

I've made contact with the Magix support. They asked me to send a screenshot of the Invalid Activation Code, and then they sent me again the same code. So no progress there either.

It is best to deactivate antivirus and firewall when activating the plugins. Also you must add the program folders to your exclude scans folders of your antivirus.

The proDAD Mercalli V5 Suite -problem is now solved. Magix support sent me a link to download the installation file. The name and size of the file were exactly the same as the original one I got, so I wasn't expecting much. I uninstalled the program, and then reinstalled it with the "new" file. Then I started MEP... and behold - the effects were working! I didn't even have to do any activation.

So the result is great, but I really don't understand why it worked this time. And why I didn't even have to use my activation code this time?
