Windows version and whether 32 or 64bit, format of the videos and have they been converted at all.

can somone please help , i have read the post and lots of others , my pc deff does not fall into the catagory of cant cope , i did expect it  to work out of the box because windows movie maker does , i wanted more options and that is why i went for magix edit pro , but it cant even preview a movie , there mut be a simple fix for this , but it did not install me with confidence  that there is a lot of people with this problem , and nobody with an answer.
