Well done on identifying the font Al. I thought it looked familiar but couldn't identify it myself. Good work. This could be redone from scratch. What about the white clock on the green background in the original?

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Hi Al.

Yes I meant the image 😉. I have over 600 fonts on my system I can use within MEP / VPX and the list that opens from within the title editor is very small to see details of the fonts on my 28" monitors. I have so many similar but not quite the same. Why? Please don't ask beyond I get specific requested tasks to do on occasions and more fonts than I personally would like.

Still, I have seen that clock icon somewhere but again I'm not sure from where.

Hi Al.

I work with two identical SyncMaster SA300 Samsung 28" HD LED backlit monitors bought at the same time from the same batch. Both colour graded using a ColorMunki. Compared to more modern monitors they do not have a very bright nit rating but the controlled lighting in my editing room makes up for it compared to trying to work in a day-lit room. Prior to that I was using 2 Hitachi monitors in the days of a 4:3 screen ratio. I would really love a new set of monitors but these are still working well. I think you would like my little dedicated 7'w x 12'l x 8'h editing room.

Hi Al.

HD to me means 1920 x 1080. 60Hz. Nothing special by today's standards. HDMI inputs 12volt. No audio.

If I want to check anything resolution wise I've uploaded to YouTube I can use the lounge 42" Sony TV.
