png image on track not showing in movie playback

Marc-Bergevin wrote on 1/18/2023, 8:32 PM

Hello;

Yesterday I added a jpeg file to a movie track. When I originally added the file, the image showed up properly on video playback. I closed file, and re-entered the project today. Now the jpeg shows as a solid blue box on the video playback, and i cannot see the underlying image. However the image within the jpeg file is visible on the track. Any ideas on what may be happening here? Thanks.

Marc

Hi Mark.

Try setting the range markers a few seconds before and and few seconds after an offending file and export render the file as a short movie but don't use hardware acceleration. If the resulting file shows in the finished video then check you have the latest drivers for any GPUs you use by visiting the appropriate websites and download them.

Export render the files again with hardware acceleration turned back on. The files should now show. If they don't then you will need to give us your complete system specs so we can figure out what is going on as the program should export both png and jpg files. (you have both listed, one in the title and the other in the post.)

Ray.

Hi

Can you post a screen shot of the timeline where the 2 images are - I would sugest you make the timeline full screen - click the small square top right of the timelne pane, zoom in enough, both vertically and horizontally so both objects and all other objects immediately above and below are clearly seen. Click the small square top right of the pane to return to the previous size.

The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s)you are working with if this is a laptop.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it - see my signature for an example of how much information is needed.

Does the PNG image have a transparent background or transparent 'colour' in any part of the image?

Thanks for your quick reply guys. Much appreciated. Before taking things to the next level as per your suggestions, I tried re-inserting the jpeg file and saved the changes. The edit appeared to stick, so I am good (for now). Thanks again for considering my post. Marc
