Playing back a small section to edit

Before SF 15 I was using SF 9 and a few versions before that. To edit audio, I would roll the cursor over a section, hit my spacebar and the audio would play that section from the beginning and stop. It would then 'rewind' and I could do it all over, listening to that section as much as I wanted to using the spacebar to stop and start. There is no way to do this now. And loop playback is not what I am talking about. Now I have to right click, press Cursor and then set to start. But that only does it once. SF 9 now crashes my computer for reasons I don't know when I use noise gate so I can't use it or I would!! I loved it. *Did I create a spacebar shortcut or something that I forgot how to do??
