Playing a DVD produced from Magix

When I play a DVD that I have burnt with Magix Movie Editor Pro 17, at the end it continuously displays the last frame.

When using commercial discs or discs produced using another burning program, Windows Media Player comes up with the choice of "Play Again", but with Magix this doesn't happen and I am forced to close the program as it does not respond to any commands.

I am not using a menu, the discs are of a single video only.

Am I doing something wrong, or is Magix designed to do this - I find it a terrible wsteof time to be forced to produce an mpg file and then burn it to disc with another program.

English_Pensioner,

MEP certainly has, in the DVD burning part of the program, various option for what to do at the end of a film -- if you have prepared a real DVD format disc with menus etc. The Windows Media Player behavior you describe is typical when playing a raw mpg file irrespective of its source eg hard drive, memory stick, or data from a DVD.

Check your DVD whether it contains just your mpeg file or the standard DVD structure of 'VOB' and other files.
