Is there an answer to this problem?
I am using an Aspire5742- Intel i5, 8 gig ram (upgraded), no software running in foreground, plenty of HDD free.
I put down a midi drum track as a click, and the first analogue guitar track records fine. It's the second analogue track that gets the slow treatment. Just as the OP says, very slow and pitch change down- like a slowed record. My laptop specs are adequate- what's the answer, please!!! :)
You are describing the process of building a song by recording one audio track at a time. My exposure to Music Maker is that, while it can be used for that, it's more designed for making loops and such, not so much for recording analog audio projects.
I highly recommend you download the free trial version of Samplitude Music Studio 2016 and install it as 64-bit. If your MM is 32-bit, then it doesn't matter if you have 8GB or 64GB of RAM, it won't be used.
The 64-bit Samplitude Music Studio 2016 will be able to utilize your 8GB of RAM.
I'm pretty sure your problem is not due to RAM in Music Maker, but I really believe you will love Samplitude Music Maker if you spend some time working with it. I tried Music Maker a few years back and had all kinds of little issues, and gave up and went to Samplitude Music Studio and have never looked back.
Like Music Maker, Music Studio comes with soundloops and Midi VST plugins, so the price is an amazing bargain.
