Picture blurred when video camera facing downward

peter-senn wrote on 6/18/2020, 5:20 PM

I have a Panasonic TM700 and a Panasonic HDC-SD707 video camera. I often record videos with the camera facing straight down

When the camera is aligned horizontally the picture is sharp, but when the camera faces straight down the picture turns jittery. It appears as though the camera reacts to some kind of gravity sensor.

@peter-senn

Hi

This sounds like the image stabilisation on the cameras cannot determine where it is supposed to be when pointing down and hunts causing the lens to 'jitter' as it cannot sense any X-Y motion that occurs when correctly orientated and is hand held.

If you are working on a tripod, image stabilisation should be turned off, to stop this hunting which occurs for the same reason as above.

@Anthony-Epperson

Welcome to the Magix forums.

Why have you posted to a thread about video camera stability issues with a question about registering AML 2014? It is considered very poor forum etiquette to hijack another user's thread in this way so please do not do it.

Rather, repost your question to the appropriate area of the forum, "Audio".

Since I do not wish to close this thread because the actual question raised by the OP is still potentially "active", your post has been hidden.

To emmrecs -- Obviously, I am unfamiliar with this forum and did not intentionally post in the wrong area. I don't even know how I got here. Unfortunately, you have hidden my question, so there is now no opportunity for anyone to see it and help direct me to the proper location. I did not "hijack another user's thread", thank you very much for your complete lack of kindness. Instead of drawing a logical conclusion as to how I ended up posting here, you assumed the worst of me, which actually reflects on the type of person you are.

@Anthony-Epperson

I entirely accept you did not intentionally post in the wrong area but that does not alter the fact that you did! I did not assume the worst of you - I am not sure how you arrived at that conclusion - when I simply pointed out that your question is about AML2014, an audio product which should, therefore, be posted to the Audio section of the forum.

As to drawing a logical conclusion as to how (you) ended up posting here I do not understand how I could be expected to "second-guess" your actions or intentions.

Your post was hidden because it is wholly irrelevant to the question posed by the starter of this thread, hence the "hijack" comment.

Please follow the link I have given above to the Audio section of the forum and repost your question there. However, the nature of your problem may well require far greater expertise than is available in these user to user forums. I suspect that, in the need, you will need to contact Magix Sales and request their help. Because of the age of your product it is possible you will be asked to buy a Support Ticket, though you should not be.

Dear Jeff (emmrecs) -- I responded to you and pointed out that my first post being in the wrong place was an accident. You were rude and unkind to "speak" so harshly to me in response to a simple mistake. Thank you for the new information -- I sincerely appreciate it. Kindest regards -- and PLEASE be nice to people -- this world is far too harsh these days and we can all use a little help. I will post where you suggest and will not comment here again. There is no need for you to respond to this message. Thanks again.
