Hi djmrice,

What country are you in and/or what currency are you using? This may be some kind of regional restriction. I seem to remember that our company can only offer PayPal as a payment option for currencies for which we have an official office in a country using that currency. It's some PayPal stipulation. If you are using a currency that we should support for PayPal payment (e.g. USD, GBP, Euro), your Music Maker/in-app store may currently be configured to use a different currency, or this may be a completely different kind of issue. Might be a good idea to get in touch with our support. Thanks!

I'm in USA, New Jersey to be exact. I tried to use the support page but that's just useless. Have you ever tried the support page? It sucks. You click along to end up nowhere. The support only supports specific issues, my issue isn't on their list.

@ralftaro

I can confirm that there is no PayPal option here in the UK for Music Maker and Movie Edit Pro.

Thank you, so I'm not the only one with this issue. I have to say that there are a few sound files I "WOULD" have bought, but I will not use my personnel credit card for online purchases, I've been burnt before, won't happen again. Wonder how many purchases they missed out on because of this issue?

ralftaro wrote on 4/30/2018, 5:40 AM

Hmm, odd. We'll be looking into this.

From what I remember, the currency choice is one you make when you use the store for the first time. I have also set mine to UK/GBP, and it does still come up with the PayPal option right now. The same should be true for US Dollars.

I'll keep you posted.

@djmrice I was under the impression you had already successfully raised a support ticket in our system, which should be with our support staff right now. I did find your account in our system, though. It seems to be correctly set to US Dollars. So, we'll try to troubleshoot the issue based on that information.

Update: After some back and forth with development and management, I'm afraid I have to confirm that PayPal is indeed currently not a payment option in the in-app store system. (It was shown on my due to the special status of the account I'm using.) Some practical and legal technicalities are currently still getting in the way of us being able to offer it. However, they're still in the process of exploring further options. Unfortunately, that's all I can say at the moment.

Thank you. OK, now it makes sense. Thanks a lot for getting answer to this issue. Hopefully they can get things sorted out. I think Majix music maker would be a lot more profitable if this were available. I for one would have gotten a bunch of music packs if Paypal was available.

I can’t setup my payment method what the heck I keep getting an error message saying there was an error during the payment process?

emmrecs wrote on 8/13/2019, 4:00 AM

@Joshua-Day

Welcome to the Magix forums.

This thread concerns the problems encountered by users wishing to use PayPal to pay for purchases made via the Magix store. Is that what you are wanting to do, or are you trying to set up a different payment method? It certainly appears to still be the case that it is not possible to use PayPal as the payment service (I just checked this on my computer).

If you are attempting to set up a different payment method and find you cannot I would suggest you use the Contact button in the footer of every forum page to raise a support ticket with Magix. There is an option for pre-sales questions.
