Paid for Plus, but can't download/ 2020 Music Score Edition confusion

Silimtao wrote on 12/16/2019, 2:46 PM

Hi all. I had the free version of MM, and there was a sale for Plus, for $14.99. I made the purchase in-app (that is, from within Music Maker). Plus shows up in my in-app store as "Acquired," and there's a download button. When I click Download, for a split second, it goes to "Downloading" then reverts back to Download.

I don't believe I've upgraded to Plus. When I go to Help>About my version number is 28.0.2.45. There's nothing that says "Plus" that I can see. How can I verify whether I have Plus or not?

2nd Question (I'll start a new thread if necessary). I also purchased 2020 Music Maker Score. With 2020, do I "build" my Score Edition by selecting 3 different Score "packs/soundpools"? I was given the option to select 3 different Score Soundpools/Editions (whatever they're called; sorry, I'm new to MM). I was also given the option to select (for free) a bunch of instruments, but, at no point was I told "this is part of your 2020 Magic Maker Score Edition." I was never prompted to Download 2020.

I sent an email to Support, and the response was basically, "Since you bought it in-app, there's nothing to activate; you have it. I found this response unsatisfactory, and sent another email with screenshots. In the menu for Soundpools, nowhere does 2020 Score show, and the Download button for Plus is still a mystery. I'm still awaiting a response from Support.

If anyone can shed light on this for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

@Silimtao

Hi,

Did you activate the code that you received for Plus on the Activations screen? I presume so since you see that it's been acquired. Plus and Premium give access to some presets, features, instruments and Soundpools. Nothing shows up to say that you have Plus or Premium. However, you should have some credits showing at the bottom of the screen in the Media Pool under Store and Presets/Features/Instruments, etc. You use the credits to "purchase" what you want.

Do you have any credits showing?

For your second question, same answer. Activate the code and you will get credits to be used. Click on the credit button at the bottom of each screen to see what you can purchase. Choose carefully, as it can't be undone once purchased.

As for Score showing, correct, nothing shows except some additional credits.

Hi brow. I just wrote a looong response, that disappeared.

Anyway, I think I have it figured out. In the tiny print under Plus and 2020 Score, there's language that says, "Choose 3 Scores, instruments, etc." So it seems I paid for a "bundle" I "build my own." I wish support pointed that out, but it's on me for not having read the fine print.

Thanks for your input. BTW, there's no activation required when you purchase in-app, since you're logged into the store already. I'm just glad I didn't make a major investment on this, since most of the stuff isn't royalty free.

@Silimtao

You get logged out after a certain period of no activity, meaning moving about, not typing in a reply, unfortunately. I have lost many a reply and I now do a Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C before hitting the Comment button, just in case.

Here is a link to what to do after purchasing something to do with Music Maker.

Note the info in the images below. You should get the quantity of credits indicated.

Have fun!

@browj2

Wow, you've gone above and beyond, and have been more clear than support has been.

There's something inaccurate in the site though (assuming I'm reading correctly). "Activating your Store credit is easy and can be done directly within the program by entering your serial number." I simply got notice within the program that I had credits to use, and I simply "bought" an item, and clicked "Download." This is partly why I confused myself with Plus and 2020 Score (aside from not readiI'm ng fully the text within the program).

After paying for Plus and 2020, I got all these popups for the credits. I then reviewed soundpools, clicked "Purchase," and a "Download" button would appear. I guess being logged in "activates" your credits? For digital purchases in-app, you don't get a serial number (another thing that confused me).

I'm a guitar player, and have been on a 2 year hiatus. I have tons of VSTs and programs. I bought Magix on a whim, and doing it at 3 a.m. didn't help. Now that this problem is solved, if you could tell me how to route EZ Drummer to my DAW, with a midi keyboard I'll be eternally grateful. LOL. j/k.

I have off through the new year, and I've been messing with all my programs for 5 consecutive days.

Have a good one, and thanks again for your input.
