Owns 2021 premium and purchased 2023 premium - can I still use both?

Pernas wrote on 11/19/2022, 8:39 AM

Hi!

As the title says, I do have MMM 2021 premium and just purchased MMM 2023 premium too on the same Magix account as a stand-alone purchase and not an upgrade - can I still alternate and use both the 2021 and 2023 on different computers without any unforeseen issues?

I also have the Loops Unlimited subscription on the same account and don't want to loose/re-DL all loops all when shifting computers?

@Pernas You basically wasted money. The upgrade price is just a lower price for users who already purchased an earlier version. You get always the full version of the program, it doesn't matter if you buy the upgrade or not.

You can keep MM 2021 on your first computer and install MM 2023 on a second computer just fine. Installing both versions on one and the same computer gets tricky because newer versions will automatically uninstall the previous version.

Loading a MM 2021 project in MM 2023 should work, but I'm not sure you can load a MM 2023 project in MM 2021.

I believe the Soundpools are stored under C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\Shop\

You can just copy the folders to your other computer and start a re-scan in the program settings. The Soundpools should load fine.

At the time of purchase the cost for a new version vs an upgrade was the same low and therefore my question only concerns if there could be any Magic account/loops UL issues when shifting between the old 2021, on one computer, and 2023 on another computer until everything "settles" with the new version. History has really tought me that when released there are a few things not ready or stable enough to satisfy.

Shouldn't Magix tell users that we don't need to purchase the upgrade? I did the samething and it erased the previous version MM22. Now MM23 crashes regularly and won't load all of the features. Vita doesn't work and the midi editor freezes and I can't close it out. There is just a blue box.

@LES-DA Try the usual things, like checking you are logged into your user account, opening the program settings and clicking on the button to clean up the store, re-scanning the VST paths or resetting the program settings under the File > Settings menu.

Hi,

I don't see why. Music Maker is free.

Hi

. . . . MM23 crashes regularly and won't load all of the features. Vita doesn't work and the midi editor freezes and I can't close it out. There is just a blue box. . . . .

What is the version number of MMM 2023?

The current patch is 31.0.2.21, with which I had updates to 24 VST's and 4 Features available under the Downloads tab.

What are your computer processor and graphics card make/models?
