Has anyone come across this odd behaviour after updating Windows 10 to the Nov upgrade - Win 10 version 1511 OS build 10586.36 ?

When the taskbar icons properties are set to Always combine, hide labels - see image for dialog

The MEP running program icon in the taskbar is displayed as a 'blank page' icon as shown below -

When the taskbar icons properties are set to Never combine, the MEP running program icon in the taskbar is correct

This only affects MEP 2015 and 2016 but not previous versions - the only difference is 2015 and 2016 are 64 bit programs.

However the Paintshop Pro X7 icon to the right of the MEP icons is also 64 bit program, however it is being displayed correctly.

The Windows 10 icon cache has been deleted and rebuilt so the problem is not there.
