Movie Edit Pro 17 - I did not originally import files into the main project file...days went by and i moved files around...when opening the project file it gives an error stating it can't find the file so I had to repoint to the file....but, is there any way to import the files into the main project file after the main file has already been created?

mrgodguy,

To reply needs some care in terminology. Your 'project file' eg .MEP or .MVP, can be thought of as a set of instructions -- what clips / images are being used and where they are stored, what part of the clips are being shown if you have made cuts, and what transitions, effects or titles etc have been added. The project file doesn't contain any video, only pointers to where on your computer system the video is stored.

You say you 'moved files around' and that is your problem. When you create your project your clip might be say at C:/video clips/vacation. If you move it then MEP will prompt you to locate any missing file. If you do so, and re-save your project everything should be OK -- unless you move things again.

Simply put, decide where you want to store your clips before your start a project. If you move something later you have to tell MEP where to look. This is doubly important with removable media as sometimes say a USB drive will have a different letter if a memory stick has been inserted first.
