Online update for Movie Edit Pro MX is not working

When I select Online Update for my registered download version of MEP MX, the update downloads just fine, but when it's done downloading it doesn't do a damn thing except shut down the download window and leave MEP MX running.  Nothing updates, no screens pop up..... NOTHING!  I've tried this several times and get the exact same result each time.

Why isn't it working?  I need this update because some of my .mts files appear to be corrupted when displayed in MEP MX.  The files are not corrupt because I can view them in any other compatible software, as well as in MEP 17.  Only MEP MX displays the files incorrectly.

How I get my software to update since the Online Update option does not work?

Hi.  If the online updates are not working AND if you are experiencing problems with *.mts files in MEP MX (which "level" by the way?) I would suspect your whole installation may be "faulty".  So, before attempting to resolve the updates problem I would seriously consider at least "repairing" the existing installation.

This is most easily done, depending on your Operating System, by going to Control Panel>Programs (or Programs and Features)>MEP MX, right click, if you have the option to "Repair", select it.

If that option is not there you can carry out the repair by, if you have a DVD simply run the install disc again and when you see the option to Repair, Remove or Modify, choose the Repair option.  If you bought the program as a Download, you will need to re-run the Install file; again, you should see the option to Repair.

Having done that I would then try to Update the program again.  If there are still problems I think you should completely uninstall MEP MX (consider using the free Revo Uninstaller to ensure EVERYTHING is removed).  Then reinstall and try again to update.  If you still have no joy I think this may well be a problem to "discuss" with MAGIX Technical Support.

HTH.
