I download a lot of music videos, extract the audio, and place them on my vehicles medial player, but have difficulty getting all tracks with identical volumes. Will Sound Forge Audio normalize/equalize multiple audio tracks so that they are the same volume from start to finish?

If you mean Sound Forge Audio Studio, that depends. It doesn't do batch processing, so you couldn't load a bunch of files into a hopper and apply, say, -3dB normalization for automated processing. You'd have to apply normalization to files one at a time.

Appreciate the info. I've tried the normalization to individual tracks but that doesn't work. So far, I've found only one program that will accomplish what I want, but it requires making a complete video and then extracting the normalized auto from that. Unable to separate the individual tracks so that I can save them on USB and then load them into my player with the individual tracks accessible separately. I hope I made this post understandable.

Again, thank you for your info.

It kind of sounds like what you're talking about is equalization of apparent volume across files, rather than equalization of peaks, but maybe I'm wrong.

If you have SF Pro, try using RMS normalize. Peak normalize brings the file's highest peak to around - 0.01dBFS, so if a file has one really loud peak, the rest of it will still be comparably low. Compresses and volume maximizes are another good option. Wave Hammer in SF Pro has a compressor stage AND a Volume Maximizer stage. There are many others available for purchase or free .. For instance, the free VST plug-in LoudMax is popular, works well and is relatively easy to use.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @jack-a

Thank you both, Poinzy and rraud for your responses.

Yes, Poinzy, that's what I talking about - making audio the same across all tracks so that when I play them back, I don't get on track at a good listening volume and the next so low I have to turn the volume up. I've been using Cyberlink and that is good if I want a video with the sound equal. But I'm looking for just audio. I've tried AVS but that's no good as it can't batch normalize. I've tried MP3gain and not sure about it. I tried to "normalize" audio tracks from playlists I've but together before but won't normalize all of them. Still have highs and lows. Will try using it with new playlists.

Thank you rraud for your response. I'd try SF Pro but can't afford to spend much. On a tight budget with low income. That's why I set-up an account here so I could ask questions before I purchase. I found one program that says it will do what I want. I downloaded MP3gain is a free open-source program that I haven't fully explored but intend to soon. On the playlists I've tried, it will use it's default normalization to 89.0db. After I load my files, it will do either track analysis or album analysis, depending on which one I choose, then normalize each track, changing the original tracks. That part I'm not too happy with, but can live with it. I might give LoudMax a try.

I really appreciate the responses to my posts. Will update here later. Thank you both.

You might want to check out this site, at least for VST plug-in ideas. There might be some demos available:
