Normalising causes a serious increase in volume that is deafening

Hello there, I have Music Maker Premium Version 28.0.3.53 on Windows 7 and have recorded a guitar track with my Marshall stack and a dynamic microphone, all audio is great in mix and program, and I am working with my band (we are all in different places), so I need to export the track (also doing this to release our music), I do it, and it is extremely loud, I look at the process of exportation, and there is normalising, so I had it play all the way through while on the program, then I normalised it, the orange bar that seems to signify loudness goes all the way up, and it becomes deafeningly loud. My drummer reported this issue as well when he received the WAV file. I have tried to export in other ways, but it is simply an issue with normalising, and potentially (likely) with other factors and nuances. Help would be appreciated, as this is another frustrating issue with an otherwise fantastic DAW.
