No sound on .m2ts nor .m2v videos

Dears,

I have upgraded to Video PRO X 13.

A disaster ! I now have the sound but no image on .m2ts files, both files mentionned above.

I've spent 150EUR for something that doesn't work at all now, it's even worst than the previous situation...

Please tell me what to do, I'm really deeeply disappointed.

If I can't solve that issue, I'll quickly request the reimbursement and search something else.

Update:

After switching the hardware acceleration to CPU instead of GPU, all seems to be normal.
My exports will probably be slow and not take any advantage of the version 13 but al least it seems useable.

My GPU card is a NVidia GeForce GTX760. Is this card so old fashion?

Unfortunately Kepler based cards no longer get driver updates, so I suppose the answer is yes.

Although according the the specs page it seems to comply with the minimum specs for the graphics card we have found on occasion people suffering the same as yourself.

@johnebaker May have a better idea as to why this should be.

@CubeAce is correct - according to Nvidia, the GTX 760, which was one of the last models of graphics cards to be based on the Keplar architecture, does not have the necessary internal feature for NVENC decoding or encoding.

This has caught quite a few users out, the NVidia numbering system for graphics cards is not always a chronological one, eg the GTX 750 was released 8 months after the GTX 760 and is based on the newer Maxwell architecture which does have the NVENC module built in.

I don’t plan replacing my only 8 years old i7 based computer soon. That wouldn’t be good nor for the planet nor for my bank account. I’ll live with that feature for some time.

Hi Mark.

I assume your Intel processor does not have an inboard HD 630 graphics chip which would have helped but your nvidia card actually has a twelve year old graphics chip. If the Intel chip does have an inboard graphics chip but has been disabled in the bios then enabling the inboard HD 630 chip may give you sufficient hardware acceleration for a better experience.

My CPU i7-4770K 3.5 Ghz has a graphic processor "Intel HD Graphics 4600".
VPX offers me the possibility of hardware accelerating with the CPU. Not sure about what it exactly means: CPU as a CPU or using this graphic processor?

Hi Mark.

When you said

I wrongly assumed the i7 processor was only a 7 year old processor but the CPU i7-4770K is actually a nine year old processor so the inboard Intel HD 4600 graphics chip also cannot be accessed by the program, or if it could be used may not really be sufficiently up to the job.

This may seem unreasonable but for now Moore's Law is still being upheld (by dubious means😲) and technology marches apace.

Editing is smooth, this is what is really important. Exporting is as slow as with my previous VPX version but that is not a big issue. I'll start the job as go sleeping, that's all...
