No sound for Intro/outro clips

Hi.Franois.

I'm not sure what you mean.

I press play any selected intro / outro preview section, the clip plays along with the sound in MEPs' Editing monitor.

If I then import the same clip to the project the audio still plays.

The issue is the first part of your post: there's no sound. Part 2, it's ok!

CubeAce wrote on 11/14/2020, 4:19 PM

Which audio drivers are you using in the program settings?

Try changing them. You should have a choice of Wave driver or Direct sound. I suspect you are on the Wave driver. Try Direct sound.

As I said earlier your system is not up to spec and it appears your audio chip is also several generations behind current versions. That could be important and you may have to rely on Direct sound and the primary driver found in the drop down dialogue box underneath. Even that may not work properly or at all. It may be worth trying but I'm sorry to point out that you have obtained a fairly new piece of demanding software on a machine barely capable of running it.

Hi

. . . . I think i will upgrade my computer, soon! . . . .

Do note that to take maximum advantage of hardware acceleration (HWA) for exporting the processor must be an Intel with integrated GPU - I recommend one with the UHD 630 chipset minimum.

Having a Nvidia or AMD card in addition is OK and MEP can use these for hardware acceleration for Preview but not for exporting.

An AMD processor with Nvidia or AMD graphics card will not support HWA for exporting with MEP at this time, this may change in the future.

Without HWA export times will take longer than the duration of the video by a significant factor, depending on effects, collages titles etc that are used this can be up to 10 x the actual duration of the video on the timeline.

With the Intro on the timeline, please show a screen shot of the timeline that includes all tracks that have objects and the track header.

If you can hear the preview, you should be able to hear the music once on the timeline.

If you put an audio file, mp3 or wave on a track, can you hear it when you play?

1- The screen shot is below.

2- I cannot hear the previews that were purchased from Magix. Free previews (basic intros), i can hear the sound. Very strange...

3- I can hear downloaded MP3. There's no problem on this side.

The only problem, is about intros/outros bought from Magix. I cannot hear the sound.

Thank you!

Hi Franois.

Sorry for any confusion. The word audio is the same as saying sound in the context of my last sentence.

I can not account for why your system can not play sound when playing a clip using the play button on an intro or outro.

It is possible that a project has corrupted in a particular way and that the corruption continues each time the project is re-opened. It maybe you need to create a new project to correct the problem.

Another possibility is that the problem has happened within Windows. If you never turn your computer off it may be cleared by going to the task bar and selecting restart as that will re-set any drivers. Turning the computer off by just shutting it down does not do that. Instead it saves the current settings for the next start up so you must select the Shutdown and restart option.

If that does not work then it is more likely to be a hardware limitation.

Ray.

Assuming you cannot hear them on the timeline as well as the preview, check that the audio files exist in the following folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Movie Edit Pro Premium\IntroOutro

There you should see all the Intro/Outros you have in various file formats, the audio files should be OGG files with the filenames similar to to name of the Intro/Outro, eg something like:

World_News_Intro and World_News Outro

If they are there you can test these by dragging them onto the timeline in MEP to see if they play OK.

Looking at your screen shot, I am confused. In the preview window, you say that this is your project and that you can hear the audio, which I presume means the Intro audio. However, looking at the timeline where the Intro is located, I don't see any audio clip. Is there anything on track 5 or 6?

That's it Ray. In my opinion, the problem comes from Magix, for a reason that i ignore, their clips bought on thier platform have no sound, or audio (i'm sorry, my english may not be enough accurate).

I went into the folder you indicated there's no entries about the clip World News (but there's entries or files about free intros). But those entries are in two other folders...

I tried something: i copied the files concerning the intro in the folder you indicated and back to MEP i tried to preview it: video ok, but no sound.
