No Realtime Visual FX Editor or Keyframe animation window?

adam_supria wrote on 7/20/2012, 5:58 PM

I just got MX Premium and while I love how much better it looks, where is the Realtime Visual FX Editor? and where is the Keyframe animation window? If they've been taken out, is there a plug-in or something I can get to enable them? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi.  Not sure what you mean by "Realtime Visual FX Editor" but the Keyframe Window appears below the Effects Tab whenever you select to add a suitable effect to a video object.  AFAIK this is exactly where it has always been!  If you cannot "see" it on your screen you may need to resize the Timeline portion of the main screen.

This is the Realtime Visual FX Editor.

It seems they removed it after Movie Edit Pro 14. As for the Keyframe Animation, I found it under effects, but I found it a lot easy to use when it was like this.

And am I able to transfer the transition effects and plugins from the previous versions? I upgraded from Movie Edit Pro 14 and it had a lot more options in terms of transitions.

Hi

MEP 14 has the old style interface with less functions then MX,  the interface was  redesigned in version15.

All the effects plus more are still there but organised in a different way - look on the Effects tab and go through all the options.

Also it is worthwhile reading the pdf manual installed with the software.

The FX editor that you show is from a much older version of the Movie Edit Pro/Video Deluxe. The features of that editor have been retained but moved into their specialized trees.

The problem with opening new windowed layers is that it takes more resources and we all know that video editing is a resource game when it comes to using effects, transitions and the like...

A lot of things have changed, the title editor is now directly in the preview monitor, all the effects are in the tab, then under their tree, so colour changes are in the video effects category within the effect tab. It will take a little adjustment to get used too, but ultimately, it was a wise move on the part of development.

If you want to learn more about Movie Edit Pro, check out the free webinars I am showing on the product through the Academy page. I can't say I will answer all your questions, but for first time users or those who are just getting back into the Movie Edit Pro, it can be very helpful.

Hi John,

Are these webinars recorded and available for viewing after the dates shown please? Sounds like a valuable source ofTutorials.

John doesn't seem to be around, so anyone else know more about these 'webinars' please?

Hello Terry,

It is my understanding that after one completes the webinar that you are given access to reviewing what was shown by John. The webinar is three hours long with breaks for asking questions. Because the class has a limited number of people it is required that you sign up in advance for them. I signed up for one that was in July but despite being told that my registration was successful I never received an email stating where or how to participate, hmm? Perhaps I will try again as I'm sure it would be benificial.

If you would like to read about the webinars in more detail click HERE.

Regards,

Joe
