No Effects With Music Maker

Hello,

I just received this as a gift and am having a problem with getting the effects to work. I'm running Windows 10, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for sound. I'm looking to record my guitar with this program. I'm getting sound but when I try to use Guitar Rig 5 or the effects installed with the program I'm getting no effects. I've set the folder and it loads Guitar Rig 5. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Hi,

I presume that you're talking about MusicMaker, latest version 25.1.2.78. Was your gift the free version, or something else, and, if so, what?

Click on the gear beside the record button. Change the input to your Focusrite. See if that helps.

Are you using an ASIO driver from Scarlett or ASIO4All? If not change the program settings under the Audio/Midi tab to something that works.

I'm using version 24.02.46. I should have added that I'm getting sound so I don't think it's the Focusrite driver. Just no effects from guitar rig or the program effects.

The audio out from the Focusrite is what should be recorded in Music Maker. You haven't given much information about your set up, so it's difficult to help much more. Program effects come later.

Which version do you have, basic (which is now free), Plus or Premium, and if one of the latter, did you download and install all of the addons?

Are you trying to use the effects 'live' ie as you record the guitar or post recording?

In the case of Guitar Rig 5 it is applied/used post recording.
