Are you trying to say you're using a USB microphone to record some vocals/sounds when you're having a problem?

It would have been helpful if you told us the details about your computer system, especially the sound interface (audio interface/sound card/ sound chip, etc.).  It's likely that whatever sound interface you're using is not capable of full duplex (simultaneous in/out) operation.  In other words...you can record OR playback, but not both at the same time.
