New Soundpools

mhillegassjr wrote on 1/10/2016, 10:12 PM

I am using MAGIX Music Maker Pro 2015. I just bought and downloaded a new soundpool, "No Fear." I moved the folder with the other soundpool folders. I told it to "add" styles and clicked on the folder. It said it loaded, but it isn't showing up. I even reset the soundpools and uploaded the collections again. I'm using Windows 10. Any ideas on how to get this new folder to upload into the styles database?

Hi,

What is the path to the soundpools? What is the exact title of the main folder?

Check under the soundpool to see if there is a BPM.inf file.

It is possible that a synonym is required in one or more ini files. Along with the main folder name, what are the instrument names (like Bass, Drums, Fx, etc?

The ini file that may need a synonym is "StyleSynonyms.ini" found under:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker 2015 Premium\Bitmaps\mxgui.4.0\Explorer\SoundPool

If you play with this, make a backup first in case you mess it up.

I had to add in:

[country]
synonym001 = Country

to get it to show up in the Soundpools and even then, there are problems.

The path for my soundpools is C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\soundpool_DVD. It's working for everything else.

The ini files I find are dated from 2014 and there's 4 of them.

The folder name is Score - No Fear. Instruments are brass, bass, drums, harp, keys, mallet, Special FX, Strings, Synth, Woodwinds. There is a file titled BPM

I can gain access to the new sounds but not the same way I can for the other styles. I can access the new sounds as wav files only right now through using the program's file browser.

Hi,

Your Soundpools are in the wrong place, although this shouldn't make a difference if you pointed to the right path using the "Add" button in MMM.

Copy Score - No Fear under:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools

It should become a new folder under Soundpools. You should also see many others. Then try doing "Add' again but to the entire Soundpools folder.

If that doesn't work, try replacing moviescore in StyleSynonyms

under C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker 2016 Live\Bitmaps\mxgui.4.0\Explorer\SoundPool

with:

[moviescore]
synonym001 = MovieScore
synonym002 = Movie Score
synonym003 = Movie_Score
synonym004 = FilmMusic
synonym005 = Film Music
synonym006 = Score

It is probablysynonym006 that will help.

Check the contents first to see if Score is not already there. If it is, then there is another problem to solve. And as I said, make a copy of the file first before editing it. Once closed, restart MMM.

Good Afternoon!

I tried the first thing you said and it didn't work either. When I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX\Music Maker 2016 Live\Bitmaps\mxgui.4.0\Explorer\SoundPool,

I see the following:

InstrumentIconSynonyms

InstrumentSynonyms

StyleIconSynonyms

StyleSynonyms

.......that's it.

How do I gain access to overwrite to save the new file with that change made? I had to add synonym006 = Score. When I save to overwrite the original, it says that I have been denied and don't have permission to do so. Do I need to save in somewhere else?

Hi,

If you installed MMM yourself, then you should have Admin rights. If not, you need Admin rights to change this file.

Are you on your own computer and do you have Admin rights?

Did you make a copy first?

I got it to work finally! I had to go into my admin settings to give everything full permission so I could overried the file. It works now. :-)

Great! Thanks for letting me know.

I just noticed that I pointed you to the 2016Live version when I should have given you the path to 2015, but it's the same.

Enjoy!

How did you do that ? I have the exact same problem with my "Funk" Style, it just won't add to Music Maker. I tried the same as you did, but i couldn't change that Text file. How did you get it to work ?
