New patch 16.0.2.288 for VPX released - what was fixed?

browj2 wrote on 11/5/2018, 8:25 AM

There is a new patch 16.0.2.288 for VPX that I found by checking within the program. It didn't show up automatically, and there was no information on what was fixed.

I started going through the lists at:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/feedback-how-do-you-like-version-16-0-1-268--1208859/

and I haven't found anything that has been fixed except that importing takes now works. Anyone else test this yet?

@MAGIX_Redaktion has now posted details of the patch in Patches and Release section.

https://www.magix.info/uk/forum/patch-for-video-pro-x-version-16-0-2-288--1216628/

It looks like only PSD image import, OpenFx functionality is actual fixes.

Thanks guys. The News post wasn't there when I started my new post, and I beat out the second one.

Now that we know what has been fixed, it seems that the list was ignored almost entirely. This list has been through what, 2 or 3 patches, and are still being ignored?

It's nice to see some new features. I'll have to test them.

was stopping with a msvcr120.dll access error ... but processing 3d bluray in half of usual time

not back to previous 3d bluray processing speed & hasnt crashed yet .. also now using graphics card for processing instead of straining & cooking the main motherboard processor

correction to prev. post .. not not at the beginning it should read Now back to previous speed

I'm not noticing any speed increase exporting to MP4 with Calculate video effects on GPU turned on and Hardware rendering. 43s test project with few effects, a couple of transitions, a nested collage, and a NB Titler title took 2m43s to export on my Surface Pro.

Could others please test this - I get a crash/restart of VPX when trying to open NB V4 DropShadow (OFX). I haven't tested all of them, but those that I did test worked.

Nice to have the eyedropper which I presume is new.

"Improvements to the OpenFX effects pages (improved color selection, groups highlighted, current selection highlighted, tabbing enabled)." I don't see anything that is "tabbing enabled." Does anyone know what this means?

It's a shame none of the issues listed in previous threads have been addressed.
They seem to be bringing out new functions before fixing bugs.
The program has been working fairly well for me so I'm not too concerned but it would be good to settle on a reliable version before my free upgrade time runs out.

Seemed to fix my 5.1 surround sound. Extract the audio tracks, performance stays the same. Before this, could not scroll, or smoothly edit at all.

Sadly, this does seem to be the case. I can understand the huge pressures from marketing and sales to have new bells and whistles every version to keep the money rolling in, but it doesn't say much for their quality assurance philosophy that they continue to let code out the door that doesn't meet product description and in some senses may not be fit for purpose. My own beef, multi-cam, used to be really good, but since July has been practically unusable in three successive "upgrades"; workarounds are possible but not for any lengthy project - you'd lose the will to live.

I'm sure the individuals in the support and development teams are working extremely hard to improve the product and give a good overall service but sometimes it's difficult to keep that in mind!
