I need to email magix customer service to ask them to remove the software from my account as I cannot do this, but when i try to email them I am told that i have to buy a new ticket as the old one is to old.
It seems you contacted technical support which only is free for one year after you purchased your software.
Did you already try sales support at infoservice@magix.net? They should be able to help you. But it could be that you have to pay a deregistration fee ($10).
Please do not double post the same question. You have already been given an answer here and the solution has not changed. I assume you have un-installed the program
