Navigation & Revolta 2 Step Sequencer

MM Premium 2017 - I too am having difficulty navigating the timeline coming from Acid Pro 7 which plays from where you click on the timeline. I have searched for a tutorial that is more detailed than the "MOUSE" video in the Support Section to no avail. It appears that to locate the cursor on the time line requires several keystrokes and setting of markers. Is there a way to just click and not have to make all these other adjustments? Also, how does one unlock the RANGE tabs so that a loop can be adjusted?

On another topic - is there any information presented in a tutorial that actually explains how to use the Revolta 2 Step Sequener? It is the last item mentioned in the Support video but does not say how it is used. I really like the potential of this program but find it extremely diffucult to navigate and to find clear explanations of how various aspects work.

I am a broadcast engineer and have been using various DAW's for years and still find the Music Maker manual tedius and cryptic - can only imagine how difficult it must be for a newbie. If anyone has some pointers or a direction to search on these matters - it would be appreciated. I only hope I am missing something obvious and that the information has been there all along.

Aside - I had a technical issue loading MMPremium 2017 in Windows 7 and the support department folks were great - exchanged several emails and helped me get through it. Well done!

Hi,

To make sure that you have everything and for an overview of some of the fundamentals, see my tutorial on getting started.

For the mouse, shortcut P (program settings), General options tab, near top left, check the box for "Spacebar stops at current playback position."

The range bar - the yellow bar at the top is somewhat problematic. You drag the left side and use the right mouse button for the right end, or drag it. It is a looping range. You should be able to double-click on the bar area to expand it over the song, but it doesn't work right. I have raised this issue with Magix several times.

The jump markers don't work, or at least they don't work for me. Also raised with Magix.

Revolta, open the on-line help manual from within Revolta - the ? at the top right. If you only get one page, then you have the same problem as I do; Magix issued the wrong file. You can search for the file under:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker Premium\2017\MxSynth\Revolta 2

Revolta 2_uk.chm

Open the German one, and you will see what I mean. Raise a ticket with Magix; I will as well.

The correct file should have a menu with many items, and the filesize should be 323KB, not 82KB.

MusicMaker is a borderline DAW with many nice features but is limited. Music Studio is the next step up, then Samplitude Music Studio, followed by Samplitude Pro. These share a different interface than MusicMaker.

Edit: Here is what the help file should look like:

Enjoy!
