my brand new midi controller works for a while then stops. it no longer produces sound but the peakmeters still move accordingly to when i press the keys. apparently there's a lot of people with this problem. any ideas would be great. I read about sometimes conflicting IRQs. If that's the case how do i change IRQs without physicly opening up my laptop? Please help anyone  P.S. I use magix samplitude 14

Which operating system are you running on and have you the latest drivers for your device?

vista, and yes i did as the instructions said and went straight to the m-audio website to download the newest drivers, instead of using the installation cd. in fact i had a theory that maybe i should have used the ones on the cd because whenever you download from the net something gets lost in translation.

For anyone reading this who needs answers, after going through M-Audio tech support I found out that I downloaded the driver from the top of the download page and it was the wrong one when I went to the one at bottom of the page it asked for way more information about my Operating system and sound drivers etc.... So after I did all that and redownloaded with all the new info, it all worked fine and now my MIDI controller works great.
