Hi,

You say that your mic isn't recording but it picks up a signal and your interface is working. Finally you can't get any vocals.

I don't understand your sentences. Clarity would help so we don't have to guess.

Do you mean that your computer picks up the signal from your mic?

What do you mean by you can't get any vocals? Do you mean that you cannot record any vocals or you cannot hear the vocals while you are recording.

What steps have you done to get it working?

Which version of MMM do you have. Year and version (Premium or regular)?

You need to use the Asio driver that comes with M-Audio M-Track and you will have to monitor it using headphones plugged into the M-Track.

  1. Install the M-Track Quad ASIO driver that comes with M-Track
  2. Connect the M-Track to a USB port
  3. Plug in your mic to the M-Track - check settings, whether or not you need +48V phantom power for your type of mic
  4. Make sure that switch is set to Mic/Line and not guitar
  5. Turn the volume down for the headphones
  6. Plug in your headphones to the M-Track
  7. Adjust Monitor mix to half-way between Direct and USB
  8. Adjust the gain for the mic
  9. Adjust the volume for the headphones
  10. Start MMM
  11. Press P to go to settings
  12. Click on the Audio/MIDI tab
  13. In the first column, click on ASIO driver and select M-Track Quad ASIO driver
  14. OK
  15. Click on REC on the track that you want to record to so that AudioRec is on (highlighted in red)
  16. Make sure that you mic is on.
  17. Click on the recording parameters button (gear) beside the red record button on the transport control
  18. Check the parameters. You will see that M-Track Quad ASIO driver ( + 2) is indicated as Audio line-in. Make sure that Monitoring is checked or you will not be able to monitor your voice from the USB, only Direct. You want to be able to monitor the sound from the computer, both your mic and the sound from any other tracks that are playing while you use the mic.
  19. Ok
  20. Click on record in the transport control and start recording with your mic. You may have to adjust the gain on the M-Track. Watch that you don't get clipping in MMM.

Let us know how you make out.
