MX trial version

I am trying to import my project as a 5.1 surround sound, I am not finding this easy, also I am having problems using the color correction, as I am trying to add colour to a black and white film, when  use the tool to select it is selecting everything not individual colors, Ok it is black and white but parts of the film are different shades of grey, black and white, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should say i am using a trial version, so maybe that's why I can not get these things to work, but it would be nice to try out the tools before I buy it. I would be upgrading from Movie edit pro 15, it is actually not al that much different, I only noticed 2 differences.

Hi DB

I am not sure if the trial version allows DD5.1 but I think so. As I suggested in your other post please read the help file regarding "Surround sound" - it is relatively involved. Also on initial import, a 5.1 track shows on the timeline as 2 channel and the 6 channels need to be created by right clicking the soundtrack and "display / create channels". Also 5.1 speaker configuration needs to be set up in the Windows Sound Card setup and the MEP mixer (M key) 5.1 button needs to be clicked.

As I said in your last post - the colour correction is really intended to be used on a colour image but will have some effect with different shades of B&W. If it is changing the whole picture you may have the Master button clicked - choose foreground or background before making a sample with the pipette tool.

BTW there have been many changes since MEP15.

Regards

Thanks, I think the color correction probably works better when there is actually color on the project you are working on.

I have discovered how to do 5.1, I imported it as a simple wav file, and it came out as 5.1 but I had to use the VLC player to play it like that. Although I know it isn;t dobly digital 5.1 I am getting. I had a look and it does say oyu have to download a free codec, but I Can not find any link on the help page for it, anything I click on does nothing. I do not remember if I ever did downlod this codec, but maybe the fact that nothing is happening when I click on it, maybe I did download it already in the past, but it is not coming out as digital 5.1, just 5.1, but I reckon that could be because I am only on a trial version.

My PC plays blu ray discs and it plays them in HD audio sound so I know my PC sound card is set up properly for that, unless there is another option to get the digital sound. I tried to exort inm every format, and only the wav format allows me to export in 5.1, which is odd because I know you can upload 5.1 videos to youtube, and I know wav format is only sound.

But thanks for your input, it is much appreciated!
