Music Maker abort on startup.

So far I have included libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll in the Path and restarted... didn't work.
I've copied them to SysWow... nothing -- copied them to System32... nothing -- they are already in application's folder.

I don't know what else to do... Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Failed to create OpenGL context for format QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags<QSurfaceFormat::FormatOption>(), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior QSurfaceFormat::DoubleBuffer, swapInterval 1, colorSpace QSurfaceFormat::DefaultColorSpace, profile QSurfaceFormat::NoProfile) .

This is most likely caused by not having the necessary graphics drivers installed.

Install a driver providing OpenGL 2.0 or higher, or, if this is not possible, make sure the ANGLE Open GL ES 2.0 emulation libraries (libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll) are available in the application executable's directory or in a location listed in PATH.

@LivingEdge

Hi
The error message would indicate that your graphics drivers do not support OpenGL or are corrupt.

However -

. . . . So far I have included libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll in the Path and restarted... didn't work.
I've copied them to SysWow... nothing -- copied them to System32... nothing -- they are already in application's folder . . .

- hopefully you are able to reverse all the above actions, and any others not mentioned, to put the computer back into its original state.

. . . . . . . . . make sure the ANGLE Open GL ES 2.0 emulation libraries (libEGL.dll, libGLESv2.dll and d3dcompiler_*.dll) . . . .

If you did this where did you get the files from? This also needs reversing.

What is your computer specification - see this topic for details required, also include the graphics card driver version you have installed.

Once you have all the above reversed, download, from the manufacturers site, and install the latest drivers for the graphics card, then re-install Music Maker following this procedure - although it refers to Windows 10 the principles are the same for Windows 7.

Hi there,

It would be interesting for me to know whether you actually managed to work out this problem by updating graphics drivers etc. If not, exactly what version of Music Maker are you experiencing this with? Is this possibly an older one, or really Music Maker 2020? Even if you cannot currently get into the program, you can obtain the exact code version/revision from the file properties of the program's main executable. In order to do this, right-click on the program's EXE, bring up the "Properties" dialogue and find the file version information under the "Details" tab. Thanks!
