I purchased the music maker 2017 off steam and i ran into a problem with the keyboard

for starters when i click my mouse on one of the keys it acts like i pressed the key next to it. i tried to resize the keyboard as i saw from another post however those buttons dont even seem to work i tried expanding the keyboard to a full window but that didnt fix any of the buttons either

Hi there,

This problem is a compatibility issue between the technology used to render the on-screen keyboard and certain graphics cards/drivers. Make your graphics driver is fully functional and up-to-date, via the website of the graphics hardware manufacturer. If this alone doesn't help, or as an alternative workaround solution, please download, unpack and run the following fix to address this issue:

https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/download_do/294659

This will should be done while Music Maker is not running, and will configure it to use a different graphics rendering mode to bypass the problem.

Hope this helps!

Hi again,

Hmm, odd. The registry key for the 2017 Steam version is accounted for in the fix. So, it should be working for that version. I wonder whether it's somehow downloading an outdated version for you. You're welcome to try again from this link:

That having been said, I have a different solution for you: If you'd consider using a non-Steam version, please get in touch with our sales/support team (https://support.magix.net). We can switch you over from your Steam version to the regular license of Music Maker 2017 Premium. This, in turn, would enable you to take advantage of the free upgrade process to generation 2020 (28.x) of Music Maker. This version is running in a different graphics mode by default, in which such problems are practically non-existent. So, maybe this would be a good way to go. You should still consider updating your graphics drivers, if you haven't done so yet. Maybe you'll see some results from that as well.

Cheers!
