Music Maker 2016 Free Trial has no sound? How to fix this?

First of all, I'll take care of all the dumb questions such as, "Is the volume up?" etc.  Yes, the sound is on, up, and audio can be heard on all other programs.  I'm using Win10, on a 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor, Intel(R) Core 2 Quad CPU, Q9400 @ 2.66Hz 2.67 GHz with 4GB of RAM.  I have used two previous versions of Magix Music Maker without any issue.  Music Maker MX and Music Maker 16 (not to be confused with 2016).

I'm using a Logitech headset and have easily been achieving sound before installing the free trial and while I have the demo on my computer.  In fact, just to find out if it was a general Magix problem, I clicked to open my existing Magix Music Maker program, and could get sound whether I tested a soundloop or opened a project.  I can listen to YouTube, music files, and all other audio.  I open my Trial for MM2016 and there is not a sound.

When I installed Music Maker 2016 (the free trial) I understood that not all soundpools would be accessible.  But I can't even listen to the "Demo 80s 'Dancing on my Own" track that the program allows me to listen to when I start the program.  All variables that involve sound are on, and turned up, and the meter to view the sound is bouncing along as if there should be sound.

Is there a reason why this is happening?  And if anyone has experienced this, how did you fix it?  Because of this, I fear spending the $60 if it's broken.

Hi,

Follow the answer to this recent thread.

What are your settings under Program settings, Audio/MIDI under Audio playback? Post a screen shot.

What are your settings under Windows, Playback device, Playback?
