Music Maker 2014 persistent error notice

scohen wrote on 11/12/2014, 1:33 PM

As a teacher in a music lab I ask my students to send there .mmm files to me. Since I updated to 2014 I always get the following error: The file "C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools\Basics_20\Dubstep Vol.2\Lead Synth\Scream6.OGG" that belongs to the project could not be found.

Can anyone help with this?

Hi

Why are you getting them to send the project files?

You will get different errors using them with different versions of Music Maker - they have different soundpools.

If you must have the .mmm files then you will need to purchase the missing soundpools from Catooh.

Hi John,

Thanks for answering. I'm their teacher, so I assess their projects not by how they sound in mp3, but by viewing the actual product on Music Maker.  I also sometimes share their work with the class, on a projector, so everyone can view the whole product. I bought enough copies of the same program for the lab, with the same soundpools, all together. Something is missing in my program, but I can't figure out what, or why.

Hi

Thanks for your reply - that is what I suspected you were doing.

. . . . Since I updated to 2014 . . . . I bought enough copies of the same program for the lab, with the same soundpools . . . .

Do you mean the whole music lab was updated to MMM 2014 or did you just update your version only?

Are you running a different version of Windows on your computer to that which is on the rest of the lab computers?

Are the computers networked?

Does everyone logon to the network?

John

The whole lab received re-built PCs with the same system, and the whole lab got the updated version of MM. The computers are on a district-wide network, but not a lab network. Everyone signs in to the school network, then my lab opens MM from their own computer.

If it helps you understand, I'm a Mac guy who was given PCs. I do my best, but am usually behind in PC tech.
